Im looking into buying an XIM1 or an XIM2 for my ps3. I would like to make it feel as much like a PC as possible I tried the FRAGnstein was not impressed at all actually very disappointed. Can I have all the negatives/positives about the XIM1 and XIM2 in game, I dont care about setting it up and getting it to work. What XIM should I get the first or second to get the best PC feel. I will be trying a lot of different FPS games not just CoD, which everyone says is almost perfect like a PC feel.

I have read a lot of discussions about how great the XIM is but im not satisfied. I saw the same thing about the FRAGnstein and I was disappointed with that.

Also I was wondering I live in British Columbia in the Lower Mainland anyone here that has a XIM1 or 2 so I could see how it works??

Thanks,

Kevin

I can't directly answer your question about a comparison between XIM1 and 2, but...

I've been a PC gamer for 18 years and a console gamer for 20.

I recently found XIM on the internet when I got tired of controlling my shooters with the precision of a drunk squirrel.

I received a XIM2 yesterday and tackled set up immediately (was very easy!). When I finally got in game (Battlefield Bad Company 2)... WOW.

It's almost perfect. And when I say almost I mean 99.98% (I'm using mist's config from the spreadsheet with a Logitech gx518).

I also fooled around with Perfect Dark (a favorite from way back) which was also excellent.

I've been very impressed and could not be more satisfied. I'll be firing up Halo 3, ODST, COD:MW2 and Red Dead today just to try out more.

With my experience so far, if you decide to take the plunge, you won't regret it.

Cool. I'm glad you like the config.

Agreed. Not only is it the best adapter on the market but it comes with a lifetime warranty. You really can't go wrong.

COD is good enough so you can swap between them. it goes downhill from there for several reasons, but most remain playable with a good setup.

I too had high hopes for the fragnstein on the PS3, but it never truly felt like a mouse.  It was easy to move around, but really difficult to target in small movements because the cursor would move too far one way or the other.  I did love the button placements and the separate controller on the fragnstein though.

I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase a XIM1 off ebay (link below) and just received it yesterday.  I still have some more configuration settings to play with, but so far, the movement is much improved.  I am using the fragnstein with XIM and it works great.  Again though, I have to dial in the settings more since it's not 100% like PC yet, but I'd say probably around 80-90% close.  The settings with XIM really allow you to dial in dead-zone spots and other sensitivity settings.

I can't saying anything about XIM1 vs XIM2, but from what I have read, XIM1 & XIM2 only matter if you are using it with the xbox.  You shouldn't see a difference with the PS3.
