I spent a whole day getting it to work too. I've had that page linked in the support faq though, his steps didn't work for you?

Nope - the latest drivers break it I think.

negative. only mouse I've used w/7 is g9 which obviously has that anyway. assume you're talking about mx518 (or any mouse w/out drivers to do it)?
I'll dig for it. I have two PCs that have win7 (dual) and pretty much need the tweak to bump the rate if I ever hope to ditch xp...

OK, I had this working on my previous Win7 install bt a dead HDD meant re-install. Now doesn't work.
I follow your instructions from Post 2 and I get to the USBExpress install and it says XIM360 already installed must delete YES/NO. If I say no install ends, if I say yeas it installs but then XIM doesn't work. I get a not calibrated (and I can then calibrate fine but same error comes up) and hardware not connected error (406).
HEllllp! BFBC2 time is wasting as we speak!
EDIT: OK so once I went through all that, I install the XIM360 again, this time it works. Didn't have to disable device driver signing, it just asked if it was OK.

OMG TY!! I had everything working on Win 7 64bit, but XIM kept crashing mid gaming. I saw this post, tried out the new drivers and voila, no problems!

OK so this is not working for me. I have upgraded my PC and this is what happens.
When I plug the Dark cable in.. nothing. Nothing pops up so no driver gets installed. So from there if I install XIM software it install XBOx headset (off all things) when I plug in the ligh cable, calibrates fine and finishes. I then run USBXpres, which uninstalls XIM, I run the XIM install again and thats it. I can sometimes maybe get it to work once but from then on it opens up the window, says connected but mouse/KB movement does nothing on the little XBOX ctrlr drawing. I can alt-tab out of XIM and the only way to shut down is by killing the process.
I have tried this about 5 times, still the same. I have permanently diabled driver signing while I am doing this so it is not that!
We need driver signing or new software or something, helllp!
EDIT: OK so I managed to find a ctrlr driver in device manager under hidden items and got rid of that. SO it installed drivers when I first plugged in the dark cable. However still the same thing. When it starts up I get the screen but the mouseKB inputs don't do anything to the little ctlr image, also get a 401 not connected error.

This worked beautiful. I just moved my setup from an XP Pro machine to Win 7 Pro with zero hickups. Thanks.

I can't get my Xim to work anymore for the life of me. It worked for a while then is started getting the 401 error. I've un-istalled the xim drivers, the USBexpress drivers, the xbox360controller drives in Device Manager. Restarted with the f8 trick, plugged in the black cable and did not get the "windows is installing you drivers" message so i guess those are still somewhere installed? Anyway next stap was installing the xim drives but i can't get past the calibrating screen.
Closed the calibating screen, finished setup and installed the Usbxpress drivers, ran the calibrate tool again but still not luck and off course when just launching xim.exe i get the 40 1 error.
It's becoming really frustrating :/ Any thoughts guys?

After some more trying stuff out i think the xim just died on me :/ the black usb cable just doesn't work anymore, i guess thats why i didn't get the "installing drivers" notification when i plugged it in. Checked it with the help of the device managers USB root monitor thingie, where you can see how much power each usb slot is using, whenever i put in the black cable the slot registers as still empyt :/ damnit.

So when I get my xim2 on friday I should just follow these steps right away? And for step 5 does that mean put the cd in?
